Michael Iverson Langdale

Michael Iverson Langdale, 53 years old, born April 8, 1960, entered into rest May 29, 2013. Michael (Mike) was the second child of four boys born to Willie Mae Langdale and the late Lloyd George (LG) Langdale. Mike was a 1978 graduate of Langdale-Bath-Clearwater High School in Bath, S.C. He was a pipefitter for 30 years and worked at Plant Vogel phase 1 in the early 80’s. He served his apprenticeship with Steamfitter, Pipefitter Local 150 in Augusta, GA. Later he took to the road traveling with various contractors.

Mike will be missed by many. Along with his mother he leaves behind three brothers, Alan (Kathy) Langdale of Graniteville, SC, Glenn (Lisa) Langdale and Carroll Langdale both of North Augusta, SC; a lifelong companion, Debra Mims of Cobb; her sons, Garrett Mims of Cobb and Josh (Cherie) Mims of Athens and two step-grandchildren, three nephews, one niece and one great-nephew.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers included Garrett Mims, Josh Mims, Jason Langdale, Benjamin Langdale, Travis Langdale and Brandon Flynt. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Burial was held Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville, SC.
