Michael Sammie Walker

Michael Sammie “Mickey” Walker, 68, of Sylvester died Monday April 28, 2014 at his residence.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Grady Morey will officiate.
Mr. Walker was born on November 26, 1945 in Thomaston, GA to Green Samuel Walker, Jr. and Martha Ruth Chapman Walker. He lived in Worth County most of his life and was a 1963 graduate of Worth County High School. Mr. Walker was formerly employed with Albany Air Conditioning for 17 years and was the former owner/operator of Sylvester Air Conditioning. He taught two years at Albany Technical College and was a former Jaycee. Mr.Walker enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of First Baptist Church .
Survivors include his wife, JoeAnn Oliver Walker of Sylvester; son, Brad Walker of Albany ; mother, Martha C. Walker of Sylvester; sister, Brenda W. Weldon ( Jack ) of Sylvester and brother, David Walker ( Debbie ) of Sylvester.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his father, Green Samuel “Mutt” Walker , Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
