Mr. Omer C. “Mac” McCann, Jr., 76, of Sylvester, passed away, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Willson Hospice House.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:30 Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Sinard officiated with interment following at 3:00 at Deboise Cemetery in Hentown, GA.
Born July 31, 1937 in Tomlin, AK, Mr. McCann was the son of the late Omer Clarence McCann and Syble Todd McCann. He served our country in the United States Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He also retired from civil service at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany as a mechanic and was a crop duster. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Survivors include his loving wife, Edna McCann; daughters and sons-in-law, Reba and Horace Stephens of Mitchell County, Sherry and John Perry of Albany and Darlene Widner of Sylvester; two sisters; six brothers; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 10:00 until 11:30 Thursday before the funeral service at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
