Patricia Ann Butler

Mrs. Patricia Ann Butler, 51, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Butler was born in Albany, Georgia, January 29, 1963, daughter of the James Floyd Troutman Sr. and Gloria Patricia Dorminy Troutman Teal. She graduated from the Georgia Academy of the Blind in Macon, in 1981. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church, a member of the Leaders in Christ Sunday School Class, and especially enjoyed Wednesday Evenings Bible Studies. She was a member of the American Federation of the Blind and loved to go fishing and watching and caring for hummingbirds. In 2001 she was certified as a Ham Radio operator, and a member of LaGrange Amateur Radio Club.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Jay Butler, her children, MA3 Amber Butler, and Charles “C.J.” Butler; mother, Gloria Dorminy Teal; her sister, Judy Mills; a brother, James Troutman Jr., all of Albany; mother-in-law, Katie Butler of Dublin; several aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James Floyd Troutman Sr.; her grandparents, Lessie Mae and Harry Troutman, John L. Dorminy and Gertrude Dorminy Culpepper, and several aunts and uncles
Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel, followed by a service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester Georgia, with Pastor Greg Brown officiating. Interment followed in Poulan Cemetery in Poulan, Georgia. The family received friends at each of the funeral homes one hour prior to services each day.
Serving as pallbearers were John Mills, Benny Smith, Barry Bowen, Brice Flowers, Gary Dorminy, and Mark Workman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, Georgia 30240 or purchase Gideon Bibles for distribution.
