Patricia Carol Griffin, 63, of Worth County, GA, died December 19, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. James Johnson will officiate. The family will receive friends at Mathews Funeral Home one hour before the service.
Carol was born in Sylvester, GA on December 2, 1955 to the late Kenneth and Odessa Johnson. She graduated from Albany High School in 1973, attended Darton College, Albany Technical College and lived most of her adult life in Worth County. Carol had been employed with the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany for the past eleven years and loved watching NASCAR and drag racing. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald Johnson, Billy Johnson and James Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Katrina Taylor of Panama City Beach, FL, Melissa (Joey) Jacobs, Roger Gardner, Jr and Kenneth (Maurine) Gardner all of Albany, GA, her siblings, Shirley (Buddy) Murphy of Sylvester, GA, Barbara (Tim) Fallin of Albany, GA, Clyde (Denise) Johnson of Leesburg, GA, Gladys Farmer of Poulan, GA and Cathy (Phillip) Raby of Worth County, GA, her grandchildren, Brandon Poole, Austin Morey, Cameron Chambless, Crizma Jacobs, Jesse West, Triston Kszyminski, McKenzie Kszyminski, Lilly Gardner and Serenity Gardner and her companion, John Erickson of Albany, GA.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday 3 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with interment in Oakview
Cemetery. Rev Bobby Joe Brown will officiate.
Janice was born to the late Paul J. Blalock, Jr. and Margie Hamlin Blalock in Americus GA and spent all her life in the Albany area. She was an exceptionally loving mother, wife, sister and friend to all she met and knew. She saw the best in everyone she met and wanted everyone to know her Sweet Jesus as she did! She was a member of Bridgeboro Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, was choir director for many years, loved to sing and loved her Church Family.
Janice learned about pecans when she was employed with Nut Tree Pecan company in the 1980’s. She grew a successful business with Home Interiors for over 20 years and attributed that success to her Faith and Trust in God. She later began farming her own orchard in Doerun GA…lovingly called Papa’s Farm.
She loved the outdoors and was happiest when she was with her family and working on the farm.
She was preceded in death by a husband Jesse Farmer, brothers Robert “Bob” Blalock, Samuel J. “Sammy” Blalock and grandson, Allen Johnson.
Survivors include her husband William “Bill” Miller, Worth County, daughter Terri Johnson (James), Worth County, sons Robert Phillip Baron (Kim), Greenbelt VA, Joel Baron (Sharon), Doerun GA, grandchildren, Justin Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Bryan Baron (Amy), Jackie Baron, Jenna Baron, Jesse Baron, J.D Johnson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 2 p.m. until funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home. Those desiring please make memorials to Bridgeboro Baptist Church.
