Raymond Cecil Tilley, 68, of Albany passed away Tuesday January 21, 2014 at the Wilson Hospice House in Albany, GA after fighting a long and enduring battle for his life. Raymond was assaulted back on August 12, 2013 after opening a local business in the early morning hours.
His funeral service wwere held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kimbrell-Stern. Interment followed in DuBose Cemetery in Early Co., Hwy 27 with Pastor Terry Sinyard officiating.
Active pallbearers included Kevin Sellers, Ronald Lindsey, Carl Knight, Tony Knight, Gordon Knight and Jeff Gordon.
The family received friends at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Home Friday evening, January 24, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Raymond was born February 1, 1945 in Seminole County. He attended Albany High School. Raymond was always known for his working careers. He worked for Tom’s Electric the past 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.
Raymond had a passionate love for his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Billy and Myrtice Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen; two sons: Ray Tilley of Baconton, GA and Kevin Tilley and wife Jill Tilley of Albany, GA; four grandchildren: Dustin Tilley, Corbin Tilley, ElenyeTilley and Lauren Nowlin; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
