Robert F. Delk, Jr.

Mr. Robert F. “Buddy” Delk, Jr., 83, of Doerun died Wednesday August 14, 2013 at his residence.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday August 16, 2013 at Kimball United Methodist Church with interment following in Kimball Cemetery with Rev. Jack Collins and Rev. R. T. Beverly officiating.
Pallbearers were Boyd Delk, Bruce Ernest, Max Childress, Taylor Delk, Nick Cribb and Chris Kimbrel.
Mr. Delk was born in Clinch County on March 31, 1930 to the late Robert Fulton Delk, Sr. and Kate Kirkland Golden. He lived most of his life in Worth County and was a retired business manager with Pipefitters Local Union 368. Mr. Delk enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Pine Delk of Doerun; children, Donna Clark of New York, Margaret Kimbrel (Kenneth) of Albany, Betty Collins (Jack) of Plains, Boyd Delk (Denise) of Lawrenceville, Darcy Brown (Gary) of Albany and Brian Delk of Sylvester; step-children, Becky Livingston, Carlie Childress and John Childress, all of Ashford, AL; Max Childress of Doerun; sisters, Vera Mae Thurman, Dolly Murray, Faye Royals, Vita Pearl Chesemore, Katherine Cowart, Doris Stone and Evelyn Cox; a brother, Grover Cowart; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous great, great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Mr. Delk was preceded in death by a daughter, Savanna Delk.
The family received friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until service hour at Kimball United Methodist Church.
