Shelby Jean Daniel Withers

Shelby Jean Daniel Withers, 76, of Lee County, GA, died March 9, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Melvin Slappy will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
A native of Berrien County, GA, born to the late James B. and Bessie Ruth Odom, Mrs. Withers resided in Lee County for most of her life. She was a bookkeeper and had been employed with Ramada Inn of Cordele and Winn Dixie. Mrs. Withers retired from Kinchafoonee Baptist Church, where she was a church member and a member of the June Knight Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard E. Daniel and Thomas H. Withers. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Denton Daniel, sisters, Verna Rouse and Emmie McGalliard and a brother, James (Doodle) Odom.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Daniel Shelton and her husband, Abe Ray of Lee County, GA;  two sons, John (J.D.) Daniel and his wife, Tosha of Worth County, GA and Ted Wayne Daniel of Albany, GA; her sisters, Margie Stamper of Buffalo, NY, Betty Hardison and Joann Watson, both of  Lee County, GA and Peggie Tompkins and her husband, Freddie of Worth County, GA; her grandchildren, Jamie Daniel Swain and her husband, Ray of Lee County, GA, Joseph Daniel of Huntsville, AL, Ricky Davis of Lee County, GA, Rebecca McPherson of Leesburg, GA, Shannon Daniel of Savannah, GA and Aaron McCaffity of Worth County, GA; and four great-grandchildren, Dozier Swain, Addler Swain, Jamie McPherson and Dani Shemery.
The family received friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
