Sherman Travis Key (U.S. Air Force Ret) passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Medical Center Enterprise. He was 90.
Funeral serviced were 2:00pm Friday, March 1, 2019 from the Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Enterprise with Rev. Billy Latrell officiating. Burial with full military honors followed at Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00pm and continuing until service time.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the DAV or the American Legion.
Mr. Key was born March 23, 1928 in Poulan, Georgia to the late Harley M. and Daisey Carter Key. He was a Volunteer at the DAV where he served as Senior Vice as well as the Chapter Service Officer. He also served as Sargent At Arms of the American Legion. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force.
His wife, Reba Jeanette Snipes Key, daughter-in-law, Sandra Bottomley Key, sisters, Edith Inez Key Odom and Lillie Mae Key Thompson Hart all preceded him in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Diane Moore (Ricky), Sylvester, GA, a son, Dr. Larry Wayne Key, Elba., AL, a sister, Martha Ann Dyess, Albany, GA, 4 grandchildren, Eric Moore (Amy), Morgan Conger (Dalton), Steve Key (Jamie), Matt Key (Amber), special friends, Barbara Young and Bob Carroll both of Enterprise.
