Stanley Slappey

Mr. Stanley Slappey, 58, of Sumner died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

The graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Pine Forest Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Layfield and Rev. Roy Carroll officiated.

Mr. Slappey was born on January 22, 1956 in Sylvester to the late Millard Shelton and Inez Davis Slappey. He lived in Worth County all of his life. He was the owner/operator of S.F. S. truck line. He enjoyed fishing in his leisure time. Mr. Slappey was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Newton Slappey of Sumner; sons, Joshua Slappey (Susan) of Tallahassee, FL and Zachary Slappey (Jackie) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Caden, Tyler  and Natalie Slappey; sisters, Latrelle S. Patterson (Harold) of Sylvester and Dorothy S. Layfield (Larry) of Chula.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Gail W. Slappey on July 16, 2003.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester is in charge of arrangements.
