Mr. Stephen E. “Steve” Hobbs, 58, of Ty Ty died Monday February 17, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday February 20, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with interment following in the Sumner Cemetery. Reverends Jim Duggan and Caleb Clark officiated.
Mr. Hobbs was born on July 10, 1955 in Hardinsburg, KY to the late Earl and Grace Taul Hobbs. He lived in Worth County for the past 10 years moving here from Tifton where he lived since 1985. Mr. Hobbs was a retired ag teacher at Tift County High School. He was the young farmer advisor. Mr. Hobbs enjoyed cooking smoked pork chops and boston butts for the FFA fund raisers. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Haman Hobbs of Ty Ty; children, Alisha Montgomery (Jimmie) of Moultrie, Aaron Wildes of Climax, Teri Clark (Caleb) of Yazoo City, MS and Lacey Hobbs of Jackson, MS; grandchildren, Wesley Montgomery, Landon Montgomery, Carolyn Grace Clark, Benjamin Clark and Joshua Clark; sister, Jacque Parrish (Buell) of St. Louis; and mother-in-law, Ilene Haman of Ty Ty.
The family received friends Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Fellowship Hall.
