Thomas “Tom” Emory

Mr. Thomas “Tom” Lewis Emory, 83 of Oakfield, GA., died on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service was held at 3:00 PM on Saturday June 29, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Emory was born on June 15, 1936 in Grantville, GA., to the late Lewis Emory and Fannie Belle Fomby Emory. He had lived in Oakfield since 1980 and was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Emory was a retired construction worker and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding horses, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Bernice Emory of Oakfield; son, Thomas Lewis Emory, Jr. (Sheryl), of Winston Salem, NC; step-son, William White (Tammy) of Sylvester; step-daughters, Terri Murphy of Oakfield and Brenda Allison (Richard) of Tifton; daughter-in-law, Ruth Emory of NC; grandchildren, Brandon Emory (Valerie), Justin Emory (Ashley), Cara Emory, Kelsey Correll (Joey), Koty Bowles (Tanner), Corey Emory, Ashton Murphy, Leah Murphy, Brittany Barrs, Emily Guess, Cara Allison, Taylor Allison, Callie Archer (Austin); great grandchildren, Brycen and JR Harden, Trent and Layla Emory, Caleb, Wyatt and Montana Emory, Camille Correll, Curtis and Grayson Bowles, Abby Barrs, Evan Guess, Holden and Ivelyn Pruett, Anzlee and Greyson Archer.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Emory was preceded in death by his sons, Mark Emory and Shane Emory.
