Mr. Warren Eldridge Barfield, 95, of Sylvester, died on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Oaks at Oakland Plantation In Lee County.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Salem Baptist Church, interment followed in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Story officiated.
Mr. Barfield was born on October 1, 1924 in Worth County, to the late Oris Lawson and Bertha Belle Shiver Barfield. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was a retired farmer. Mr. Barfield was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII, and enjoyed fishing and traveling, but most importantly spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Barfield was a member of the Worth County Masonic Lodge #194 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Massey Barfield of Sylvester; daughter, Wanda Bryan (Don) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Daniel Bryan, Paul Bryan (Ginger) and Donald Bryan (Stephanie); 4 great grandchildren; sister, Peggy B. McCrary (Ray) of Sylvester.
Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by his parents.
