Wendell Luke

Mr. Wendell Luke, 59, of Worth County died on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.
The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Pine Hill Church interment followed in the Pine Hill Church Cemetery.  Rev. Walt Tompkins and Rev. Tim Henry officiated.
Mr. Luke was born on November 25, 1958 in Tift County to the late Julius D. and Daisy Dean Young Luke.  He had lived in the Southwest Georgia area all his life.  Mr. Luke was a skilled carpenter who worked on many local projects.  He enjoyed going to the race track and serving as a Youth Softball Coach.  Mr. Luke was a devoted family man who loved and cherished his children.  He was a faithful member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Bradley Luke, Laura Luke, Joshua Luke, all of Sumner, and Matt Luke of Moultrie; sister, Regina Bradford (Scott) of Tifton; mother-in-law, Ruth H. Tompkins; sisters-in-law, Mary Hartsfield (Junior) and Patricia Brooks (Kenneth); brother-in-law, John W. Tompkins, Jr.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Luke was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Teresa Tompkins Luke on June 3, 2012.
Active pallbearers included Tracy Griffin, Wesley Chambless, Ricky Hobby, Keith Brooks, Jamie Hartsfield and Luke Smith.  Honorary pallbearers included, Dallas Burger, Kenneth Brooks, Junior Hartsfield, Scott Bradford, Ray Yody and Joey Walker.
