William David Duckworth

Mr. William David “Duck” Duckworth, Sr., 79 of Worth County died Sunday February 2, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at Cool Springs Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. Rev. Gordon Poole will officiate.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daryl McGirt, Mickey Norman, Billy Norman, Reuben Duckworth, Johnny Duckworth and Hunter Wisham.
Mr. Duckworth was born on January 14, 1935 to the late Emmett and Vera Harris Duckworth in Worth County.  He lived in Worth County all his life and was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Duckworth attended the Church of God.
Survivors include his sons, David “Doodle” Duckworth, Jr., (Donna) of Albany and Jason Duckworth (Celena) of Sylvester; grandchildren, LeAnn Wisham (Jason), Gabby Sigmon and Jacob and Maygen Duckworth; great-grandchildren, Hunter Wisham, Koby Wisham, Kaleigh Valerius and Caylea Wisham; brothers, Lounzer Duckworth of Ocilla, Johnny Duckworth of Parrott, Reuben Duckworth of Ashburn, Wallis Duckworth of Gainesville, FL and Homer Duckworth of Ashburn; sisters, Dorothy Lee McDaniel, Mary Webb and Mamie Duckworth, all of Ashburn.
In addition to his parents Mr. Duckworth was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Page Duckworth on December 5, 2001.
