William James “Jim” Adair

The funeral services for Mr. William James “Jim” Adair of Thomaston will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the Chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston.  Rev. Derrick Keeter and Rev. Wayne Collins will officiate.

Mr. Adair passed away on March 7, 2013 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.
Mr. Adair was a graduate of Americus High School and Georgia Southwestern College.  He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.  After his service in the Air Force he was employed by the Federal Government where he spent his entire working career.  He retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, GA., where he was head of Metrology, after 37 years and one month of service. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon and in several areas of ministry, including the senior adults and the music program.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Hill Adair, Albany; his parents, Rev. Jessie and Mrs. Ruby Jones Adair of Americus; a brother, T. J. Adair of Americus; sisters Hazel Lane of Reynolds and Jewell James of Sylvester; and nephew Tommy Adair of Snellville.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Armstrong Adair of Thomaston; and children, Robby and Sarah Armstrong of Thomaston, Susan and Matt Booker of Roswell, David and Sabine Adair of Athens, and Mike and Michelle Armstrong of Flowery Branch.  He is
also survived by his grandchildren, Addie Armstrong, John Armstrong, Jackson Booker and Sam Armstrong; three nephews and two nieces.
Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, 1907 Dawson Rd., Albany, GA, at 3 pm on Saturday, March 9th, 2013.
Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, (Capital Improvement Fund), 1165 Hannahs Mill Rd., Thomaston, GA 30286, or to the donor’s favorite charity.  Condolences may be expressed at www.pasleyfletcher.com
Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
