William Terry Dunne Sr.

William “Terry” Dunne, Sr., 65, of Sumner died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at his residence. A private family funeral service and burial will be held at a later date.

Mr. Dunne was born on July 8, 1948 in Tifton and was the son of Phillip Dunne and Joyce Fowler Newbern, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one son, William Terry Dunne, Jr. and his step-father, Leroy Newbern, who raised him. He was a retired roofer and construction worker and of the Baptist faith. He lived in Sumner for the past four years.

Mr. Dunne is survived by his wife, Joyce Davis Dunne of Newton; his children, Timothy Daniel Dunne of Valdosta, Denise Austin of Leslie, Michelle Greer of Valdosta, Jessica Dunne of Smithville, and Vickie Avera of Baconton; his grandchildren, Erron Austin, Ian Austin, Darian Brunson, Tanner Brunson, Brieanna Greer, Logan Avera, Leah Avera and Austin Avera; two brothers, Roy Newbern of Donalsonville and Michael Newbern of Tifton; one sister, Jan Lasseter of Tifton; his companion, Joyce Manders of Sumner; his step-daughter, Lisa Washington of Macon; and three step-grandchildren, Jamtamvine Washington, Mariah Washington and DaJasha Washington.

Condolences may be sent to the family at the online guest registry at www.bowen-donaldson.com. Services for Dunne family were under the care and direction of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
