Woody Shiver

Mr. Woodrow “Woody” Shiver, 74, of Sylvester died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Banks Funeral Home.

Mr. Shiver was born on March 1, 1944 in Albany to the late Elbert and Annie Price Shiver.  He had lived in the Southwest Georgia area all of his life.  Mr. Shiver worked at several area manufacturing companies before retiring from Miller Brewery Company as a Machinist.  He enjoyed working on antique cars and was a member of the Shade Tree Car Club.  His greatest joy in life was his family whom he loved dearly, especially his grandson Gunner.  Mr. Shiver attended Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Glenda Johnson Shiver of Sylvester; daughters, Ashley Shiver of Sylvester, Tonia Clark of Sumner and Toni Jones of Sylvester; sons, Steve D. Johnson, Jr. of Sylvester, Isaac Shiver of Florida and P.J. Shiver of Albany; grandson, Gunner Jones of Sylvester; brother, Franklin Shiver of Albany and a number of extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Shiver was preceded in death by several siblings.For those desiring, the family requests that memorials be to the charity of your choice in his memory.
