Donnie Hasty

Tifton – Donnie Edward Hasty, 83 of Tifton died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 25 in the Memorial Chapel of First Baptist Church of Tifton with Dr. Wayne Roe and Rev. John Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Gary Gibbs, Greg Crumley, Greg Hasty, Geno Hasty, Sid Renfroe and Matt Renfroe.

Born October 25, 1934, in Worth county to the late Joe E. Hasty and Verlyn Lawhorn Hasty, Mr. Hasty was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Gerald Hasty, Aubrey Gene Hasty, and Maxie Hasty.

Mr. Hasty graduated from Sumner High School in 1951, then served two years state side in the United States Army at Fort Benning. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation in 1985 then worked for the Federal Government as a peanut inspector for three years, then ten years for the Tift County Tax office and seven years for Budget Car Sales. He loved to play golf, work in his yard, feed the birds and spend time with his loving wife Alice Sandiford Hasty to whom he was married for sixty – five years. Mr. Hasty was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Tifton.

Along with his wife Alice, he is survived by his three sons and daughter-in-law Mark and Melanie Hasty of Tifton, Allen Don Hasty of Jacksonville, FL and Keith Lee Hasty of Tifton, his grandchildren, Justin Hasty, Kelly and Lucas Hand, Jake Mincey, Kinsey and Ian Campbell, three sisters and brother-in-law, Bobbie Summers of Chula, Mary Jo Gibbs of Ty Ty, and Barbara and Joe Brannen of Monticello, AR., three sisters-in-law, Velma Hasty, Doris Hasty, and Gloria Hasty along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
