Mr. Jim Moon, 78 of Oakfield died on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his residence.
The funeral service was held at 12:00 PM on Saturday December 8, 2018 at Banks Funeral Home. Mr. Steve McCord officiated.
Mr.Moon was born on May 15, 1940 in Columbus, GA to the late James William and Ogla Massey Moon. He had lived in Albany since 1970 and later moved to Worth County in 1976. Early in life, Mr. Moon worked for Georgia Power and owned a automotive repair shop in Ellerslie, GA. He was a contractor in Albany building natural stone pools. Mr. Moon had a strong work ethic. He owned and operated Wetland Excavation.
Survivors include his wife, Denise McCord of Oakfield; daughters, Renee’ Moon LaMee (Donald) of Upatoi, GA, Kelley Smith (Dave) of Dunedin, FL; son, Steve McCord (Kelly) of Oakfield; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; sisters, Lyra Coxwell of Sylvester, Dala Durham of Columbus; brother, Joe Moon of Fayetteville and 3 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Moon was preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law, Loron Coxwell, Luther Durham; nephews, Rob and Wes Durham.
