Debra Murphy

Mrs. Debra G. Murphy, 67 of Sylvester, died on, Sunday January 6, 2019 at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor.

The funeral service was held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel interment followed in the Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Elder Michael Barnes officiated. 

Mrs. Murphy was born on March 11, 1951 in Germany, to the late Jerald David and Faye Christian Grimes. She had lived in Moultrie most of her adult life. Mrs. Murphy retired from Altel in Moultrie after many years. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Mrs. Murphy loved spending time with her family and friends, and going to the Women’s Retreat with her Church Family. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Moultrie.

Survivors include her Children, Gary L. Murphy, Jr. of Moultrie,  Eric S, Murphy (Jennifer) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Harley Murphy, Devan Murphy, Leah Murphy and Ashton Nicole Murphy: great grandchildren, Brycen Harden, James Robert Harden Jr.; sister, Renee Latterner (Kelly); brother, Jerry Grimes (Donna).

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Murphy, Sr. on May 2, 2000.
