Ruby Palmer

Mrs. Ruby Snipes Palmer, 87 of Sylvester died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Sylvester. The Rev. Donnie Duncan and Rev. Earnie Pirkle  will officiate. 

Mrs. Palmer was born on April 21, 1931 in Tift County to the late Elmer Ray and Jewell Langley Patridge. She had lived in Worth County most of her life. Mrs. Palmer worked as a nurse for Dr. Davis for 16 years, and later retired from Snipes Grocery. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sylvester and the Fidais Sunday School Class for 25 years.

Survivors include her children, Patty S. Tomlinson (Carl), Tommy Snipes (Peggie), Sue Sue S. Young (Terry), Cheryl S. Morris (Ray), Lee Palmer (Nancy) all of Sylvester, Sandra Westbrook (Ronald) of Thomasville, Stephanie Beckwith (Don) of Atlanta; sister, Helen Crenshaw of Warner Robins; 15 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Edward Snipes;  husband, Roy Palmer and a brother, Ray Patridge.          

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at First Baptist Church of Sylvester.

The family would like to thank the Pine Shadows Staff, for the love and care they showed Mrs. Ruby.
