William Causey

Mr. William Lee Causey, 84 of Poulan, died on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at his residence.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Pine Hill Baptist Church, interment followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Wright and Rev. Walt Tompkins officiated.

Mr. Causey was born on May 19, 1934 in Winfield, AL., to the late Leander Carl Causey and Verna Gay Lockhart Smith. He had lived in Worth County since the age of 16. Mr. Causey worked as a mechanic for many years, and would later retire from the Worth County Board of Education as a maintenance technician. He loved fishing, trips to the mountains, gospel sings, and playing his harmonica. Mr. Causey was a member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church since 1955.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lillian “Bea” Causey of Poulan; daughter, Debra Causey Paramore (Tommy) of Sylvester; son, Michael Causey (Joy) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Brian Paramore (Christie), Eric Paramore (Calista), Haylee Thompson (Jerry) and Chance Causey; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Causey (Beth) of Columbus, Ralph Causey (Geneva) of Poulan; brother-in-law, Larry Young of Putney, Tommy Jones (Lisa) of Sylvester and Walt Turner; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Causey was preceded in death by his brother, John Causey; sister, Mildred Causey Turner; in-laws, Lawrence “Bo” and Carolyn Young, Peggy Green Young and a niece, Gail Layfield.
