Carolyn Sue Smith

Carolyn Sue Smith, 74, of Lee County, GA, died May 31, 2018 at Willson Hospice House.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.  Rev. David Williams will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Worth County, GA, Mrs. Smith was born to the late James and Corie Gunn.  She grew up on a farm and graduated from Worth County High School.  Right after high school, she married the father of her children, the late, Jack. S. Smith, Sr. and moved to Sigsbee, GA where she was a licensed beautician and was employed with the ASCS office.  In 1976 she moved to Albany, GA and was the co-owner of Southeast Oil and Grease, a homemaker and a mom.  She was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church, the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Gunn, Earl Gunn, S.G. Gunn, Edna Hancock and Myrtice Wingate.

Survivors include her children,  Jack (Rhonda) Smith of Leesburg, Jill Bass, Jody Smith (Chris Houston) and John Smith all of Albany, GA, her brother, Charles (Charlene) Gunn of Lee County, GA and her grandchildren, Dylan (Katie) Elliott, Dustin Elliott, Dalton Elliott and Daniel Elliott all of Worth County, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
