Charles Culpepper

Mr. Charles Edwin Culpepper, 77 of Sylvester, died on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Tift Regional Hospital.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday June 21, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Grady Morey officiated. 

Mr. Culpepper was born on July 26, 1941 in Worth County to the late John Henry and Mary Annie Jolly Culpepper. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and retired from Sylvester Textile after 32 years. Mr. Culpepper worked in the maintenance department with the Worth County Public Works for over 10 years. He was a member of the Bethel Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his garden.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Culpepper of Sylvester; step-children, Henry Elliott Johnson, Merrie Inez Henderson and Mattie Sparks; brother, Willie Culpepper; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Culpepper was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Culpepper, Gordon Culpepper, Mack Culpepper, John Culpepper, Ruby Chapman, Jane Thompson, Mary Willis and Nancy Story.

Pallbearers for the service included Matt Culpepper, Brett Culpepper, Ben Culpepper, Jason Willis, Dylan Culpepper and Darion Culpepper
