Donald G. Jordan

Donald G. Jordan, 91, of Tifton passed away on May 11, 2018. A funeral mass will be held at Our Divine Saviour Catholic on Thursday, May 17. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church. He will be interred at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama at a later date.

He was born in Kendallville, Indiana, served in the US Navy during WWII, and graduated from both the University of Notre Dame and Tri State (now Triune) University. He spent most of his career working with the U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, as a hydrologist in Indiana, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Atlanta GA. After moving to Tifton, he attended Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Jordan was also active in the Tifton Kiwanis Club and Habitat for Humanity.

He is survived by his children, Mary Beth Cary (Tom) of Sylvester and Mark Jordan of Charlotte NC; grandchildren Mary Grace Sangster (Dan) of Knoxville, TN and Jordan Cary of Sylvester, and great grandchild Mary Lillian “Lily” Sangster.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Jane Grace Jordan in 1991 and his second wife Bobbie Brockbank Jordan in 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church building fund (P.O. Box 212 Tifton GA 31793) or the library of your choice.

Reflection Cremation & Funeral Service of Tifton is assisting the family with arrangements.
