Doris Kimbro Hambrick

Mrs. Doris Kimbro Hambrick, 96, of Sylvester died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Pruitt Health of Sylvester.

A graveside service was held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Hillcrest Cemetery.  The Rev. Mike Davis officiated.

Mrs. Hambrick was born in Turner County on May 19, 1918 to the late Emory Lawrence and Rhoda Jane Pirkle Kimbro. She lived in Worth County most of her life. Mrs. Hambrick was a member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church and played the piano for many years at Shingler United Methodist Church. She loved her flowers, working in her greenhouses and was a member of the Sylvester Woman’s Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly C. Hambrick of Jacksonville, FL.; son, George A. Hambrick of Orange Park, FL; grandchildren, Haynes A. Hambrick and Kim Barksdale; sister, Edith K. Lumpkin of Sylvester.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hambrick was preceded in death by her husband, L. Haynes Hambrick on January 26, 1989 and a grandson, George A. Hambrick, III.
