Ernest T. Brooks

Mr. Ernest T. Brooks, 80, of Doerun died Tuesday December 16, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday December 19, 2014 at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church with interment following in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Mr. Brooks was born in Worth County on March 8, 1934 to the late John Thomas and Ila Ilene Hancock Brooks. Mr. Brooks had lived in Worth County all his life and was a farmer and Elder in the Primitive Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Mr. Brooks enjoyed gardening and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife Erlene Jarrell Brooks of Doerun; sons, Van Brooks (Laura) of Fitzgerald, Billy Brooks (Jennifer) of Sylvester; daughter, Vickey Haralson (Marc) of Sumner; grandchildren, Amber and Austin Haralson, Kyle and Brandon Brooks and Hunter and Ginny Boyd; brother, Floyd Brooks (Celia) of Doerun; sisters, Ann Apperson (Wendell) of Macon and Sue Potts (Kent) of Doerun.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death in death by his five siblings, Wallace Brooks, Ben Brooks, Alberta Massey, Mabel Griffith and Mildred Draper.

Pallbearers included Charles Pate, Keith Brooks, Austin Haralson, Chad Pate, Craig Brooks, Kyle Brooks and Brandon Brooks.
