Forrest Aultman, Jr.

Mr. Forrest Aultman, Jr., 67 of Arkansas, formerly of Sylvester, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville Florida, following surgery for an aortic aneurism. The graveside service was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Duncan officiated. He was born on January 26, 1952 and grew up in Sylvester. He graduated from Gordon Military Academy in Barnesville and attended Valdosta State College and Florida State University. Mr. Aultman went on to pursue a career in the telecommunications field working for several national companies and his own small company.

He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was a prolific reader often reading several books a week. Chip, as he was known, was a good cook, especially on a grill and always had a funny joke to share.

He loved being outdoors and enjoyed an opportunity to hunt or fish.

He was predeceased by his parents, Forrest and Helen Aultman and his sister Nancy A. Lynch. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Jacksonville, Arkansas; sister Becky A. Cheatham of Savannah; nieces Margaret C. Hubbard of Savannah and Lara M. Brotherton of Wiltshire, England; and cousins William T. Hackett, Michael A. Hackett, and Neil M. Hackett. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be giving to Best Friends Humane Society of Worth County, 787 Ephesus Church Road, Poulan, Georgia 31781.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester was in charge of arrangements.
