Hubert Henderson

Mr. Hubert Henderson, 88, of Sylvester died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Pine Shadows Retirement Home. 

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Sylvester with interment following in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Duncan officiated. 

Mr. Henderson was born on November 17, 1930 in Ashford, AL to the late Elic and Euna Pilmon Henderson. Mr. Henderson has lived in Worth County and has been a member of the First Baptist Church, Sylvester since August 2000. He attended the Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, FL, now known as the Baptist College of Florida, and was a retired minister of First Baptist Church of Powder Springs. Mr. Henderson was a Free Will Baptist church planter who planted churches throughout Georgia. He was sent as a missionary church planter to founding members of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Sylvester. Mr. Henderson enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Jennings (Jim), Phyllis Abbott (Steve), Lindsay Turner; grandchildren, Melissa Kelly (Oscar), Claudia Lassiter (Kevin), Alicia Rogers (Ronnie), Jamie Jennings (Nicole), Brian Kelley (Amy), Drew Abbott (Gabrielle), Josh Abbott (Siara), Skylar Turner, Hayden Gualito, Aubrey Turner; great grandchildren, Blayne Kelly, Garrett Kelly, Tucker Johnson, Trent Johnson, Ronnie Rogers, Luke Rogers, Wyatt Jennings, Emery Jennings, Arya Kelley, Sorcha Kelley, Amenadiel Abbott, Sebastian Abbott, Dresden Abbott, Cody Lassiter (Deanna), Alex Lassiter (Ashley) and Nick Lassiter; sister-in-law, Fran Henderson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his brothers, Buford Henderson (Eddie B) and Herbert Henderson; sisters, Hilda Olive (Addis) and Effie Ree Harrell (Lewis).

Pallbearers for the service included Jamie Jennings, Brian Kelley, Drew Abbott, Josh Abbott, Blayne Kelly and Tucker Johnson.
