John Giddens

Mr. John Henry Giddens, Jr., 71 of Sumner, died Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Sunday 19, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment following in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Gordon Poole officiated.

Mr. Giddens was born on November 3, 1947 in Randolph County, to the late John Henry, Sr., and Jewell Green Giddens. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was a self-employed mechanic. Mr. Giddens enjoyed hunting, antique cars, racing and animals, but most importantly he loved spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Brooks Seigler of Sumner; children, Cindy Hall of Poulan, John Giddens (Rachel) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Megan Duckworth, Jonathan and Charlie Giddens; great grandchildren, Skye and Rylan Duckworth.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Giddens was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Rusk Giddens on January 27, 2014; brother, James “Lou” Giddens; sisters, Geraldine Hancock and Geneva Harper.     

Pallbearers for the service included Corey Gunn, Bruce Gunn, Shannon Patterson, Jamie Giddens, Dusty Hancock and Johnny Dykes.
