Funeral services for Keith “Kebo” Nichols, Jr. of Cordele were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Youngblood, Rev. Tommy Stewart and Elder Tim Stepp officiating. A recording of “Victory In Jesus” was played at the beginning of the service. Ricky Smarr, pianist, provided music and accompanied Tim Perry as he sang “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers were Rick Slaughter, Davis Atkins, Glen Bush, Bob Atkins, Clarence Atkins, Brady Atkins and Doug Stewart. Burial following in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers, the Flint Skeet and Trap Club, presented a rifle volley at the cemetery. Keith, 69, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Albany to the late Eulus Keith Nichols, Sr. and Myrtice Myers Nichols. He was a mechanic and attended Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. He was a member of the Flint Skeet and Trap Club. Keith is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen Atkins Nichols of Cordele; two children and their spouses, Brian and Beth Nichols of Cordele and Kay and Rick Slaughter of Pelham; and two grandsons, Ty Nichols of Cordele and Andrew Slaughter of Pelham.
