Mr. Michael Patrick “Pat” Cohan, Jr., 35, of Waxahachie, TX passed away on Saturday January 4, 2014.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday February 1, 2014 at Banks Funeral Chapel. Rev. Mark Spraggins and Brother Lamar Robinson will officiate.
Pat was born in Albany on December 17, 1978 to Kathy Gail Pate and Michael Patrick Cohan, Sr.
Pat leaves behind an abundance of memories and a love-filled legacy to his survivors, mother, Kathy Gail “Pate” and James Wilbur Oglesby, Jr. of Albany; father, Michael Patrick Cohan, Sr. of San Antonio, TX; the lights of his life, his sons: Andrew Cordell Cohan and Michael Lee “Bubba” Cohan and their mother, Ann Hooks of FL; his girls, Haley Pearl Reese and Alyssa Marie Wilson and their mother, Tamra Linder of Ennis; grandparents, Georgia Ann and Robert Corbin of Albany, Willie J. Pate and his wife Joan of Byron, and Barbara Dee Cohan of Spring, TX; siblings and their children, whom Uncle Pat loved as his own, Chris and Nikki Cohan of Ennis and their children, Christopher, Anthony, Jonathan and Caleb; Jesse James Oglesby and his wife Tasha of Albany and their children, Jessie Jr., Analeigh, Josie and John Lewis Oglesby of Albany; aunt, Clara Canaday of Moultrie; cousins, Rebecca Bouquio, Vasco Canaday and Justin Hickey; uncle, Lewis Pate of Woodstock and cousins, Bryan, Lori and Ricky Pate. Pat is also survived by many more aunts, uncles and cousins and last but not least a host of friends, many of whom are as much family as those mentioned above.
Pat was preceded in death by his uncle, Michael Anthony Pate; grandfather, Arthur Bryant “Art” Cohan, Jr.; great grandparents, George and Verna Brooks and Louie and Nellie Pate.
They say a man’s worth is best measured by the impact he has on those around him. His character. It was truly evident during this time, he was certainly worth more than his weight in gold. Pat had a genuine love for life and a heart as big as his personality. To know him was to love him. He will be missed by all who came in contact with him.
