Nelle Mizelle Tracy

Mrs. Nelle Mizelle Tracy, 95, of Albany died Monday May 27, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
The graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday May, 30 2013 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Dr. Alex Tracy officiating.
Mrs. Tracy was born on January 27, 1918 in Dodge County to the late William Alexander and Julia Puckett Mizelle. She moved to Sylvester in 1939 where she taught school and was a homemaker and moved to Albany in 1985. Mrs. Tracy was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville with a B.S. in Education. She was a former member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught the Maude O’Sheal Sunday School Class for over 50 years. After moving to Albany, Mrs. Tracy became a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught the Eleanor Hawk Sunday School Class. She was a long time Pink Lady with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her son, John L. Tracy, III (Sherry) of Albany; former daughter-in-law, Joy Tracy Lumpkin of Cordele; grandchildren, Roy Alexander Tracy (Kelly) of Savannah, Julie T. Garwood (Britt) of Sylvester and Mary Beth Lovingood (Derek) of Panama City; great-grandchildren, Christopher Patrick Tracy, Cody Reese Garwood, Kendal Bowen Garwood and Miles Dean Lovingood; and special care giver, Barbara Ann Kimbrough.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Tracy was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Lunsford Tracy Jr., on July 20, 1979; a son, William Mizelle (Zan) Tracy on May 29, 1999 and her sister Naomi M. Rountree.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
