Rebecca Smith

Mrs. Rebecca Hembree Smith 84, of Sylvester died Thursday September 3, 2015 at Pruitt Health in Sylvester, Ga.

The funeral service was held September 6, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Danny W. Smith, Jr. officiated.

Mrs. Smith was born in Hart County on December 8, 1930 to the late Richard Francis and Gertie Hall Hembree. She has lived in Worth County since 1935 where she was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Smith of Sylvester, Ga.; son Danny W. Smith, Sr. (Patricia) of Sylvester; Grandchildren Danny W. Smith Jr. (Melissa), Kim Perrin (Jay), Pam Parten (Rusty); Great-Grandchildren: Gerry Smith (Jaimie), Ethan Smith (Anna), Kevin Smith (Laura), Jacob Perrin, Abby Perrin, Jackson Perrin, Caleb Parten, Josie Parten and Ava Parten; Great-Great grandchild: Annabelle Smith; Brother Broadus Hembree (Thelma) of Doerun Ga.; Sister Alice Striplin of Kernersville, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Dan M. smith on September 25, 1995.

Pallbearers for the service included Jimmy Hembree, Darrell Hembree, Donald Hembree, Jeffrey Hembree, Dennis Hembree and Brad Striplin.
