Posted on April 27, 2018 By Sylvester Local

On April 9, 2018, Sara Ann Moree departed this world peacefully at age 84. A lifelong cultivator of beauty, Sara Ann is certainly savoring the beauty of Jesus Christ and her heavenly home. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to all.

Her passing was preceded by those of her husband of 60 years Dr. Lamar Moree, Sr., parents, James Olin Denham, Sr. and Mary Christine Boles Denham, brothers Julian Denham and Charlie “Bub” Denham, and nephew Greg Denham.

Sara Ann is lovingly remembered by her children Dr. Lamar “Chip” Moree, Jr. (Jennifer), Anna Wynn (James), and Matt Moree (Lisa), eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and brothers James Olin Denham, Jr. (Polly) and Benny Denham (Norma) and sister-in-law Elayne Denham.

Sara Ann spent her childhood on a farm in Inaha, Georgia. She raised her family in Ashburn, Georgia and enjoyed being grandma “Mam” in Albany, Georgia. She had a prosperous career for many years at Goldkist Peanut Company. Sara Ann delighted in growing and arranging flowers and was an active member of the Albany Garden Club. She expressed her heart-felt love for her church family at First Baptist Church of Ashburn and Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. ??Sara Ann has had many skilled and compassionate caregivers during her extended illness. Our family is grateful for every one. The past few years she lived and was loved at Hope Center Memory Care of Fayetteville, Georgia with Southern Grace Hospice tenderly ministering to her needs. So dearly loved, Sara Ann’s legacy of faith and grace will be remembered always.

Family visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Ashburn on Monday, April 30 at 10:00 a.m. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Sara Ann Moree will follow at 11:00 a.m.

For those desiring, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 302 McLendon Street, Ashburn, Georgia, 31714 or Sherwood Baptist Church, 2201 Whispering Pines Road, Albany, Georgia, 31707.
