Mr. Thomas C. Watson, 94, of Poulan died Tuesday September 3, 2013 at his son’s residence.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 7, 2013 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Nate Lehman officiating.
Mr. Watson was born on June 18, 1919 in Sumner, GA to the late John Thomas and Millie Young Watson. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Watson attended Poulan Methodist Church and was a member of Terrell Baptist Church. He was a member of Worth Lodge F&AM 194 and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with his friends, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his sons, Darrell R. Watson (Sandra) of Poulan; Mickey J. Watson (Vickie) of Lake Oconee, GA; Daughter, June W. Lawhorne (Steve) of Gainesville, GA; six grandchildren, Kelly Dunn (Johnny Brown), Rick Watson (Patti), Amy Riggins (Harold), Michael Watson (Tammie), Stacy Brown (Brad) and Allison Lawhorne; 12 great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret McCorkle of Lakeland, FL and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret T. Watson on September 18, 1991 and a sister, Lyra Mae Lumpkin.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Josh Dunn, Ryan Watson, Matt Dunn, Taylor Brown, Brian McGahee and Jerry Sawyer.
