Mr. Darrell D. Tucker, Sr, 78, of Albany died Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Lillian B. Health & Rehabilitation.
The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel interment followed in the Sumner Cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Donnie Sloan officiated.
Mr. Tucker was born in Colquitt County on September 14, 1937 to the late Tommy and Jewel Borders Tucker. He had lived in Worth County for the past 9 years and was the former owner of Tucker Plumbing. Mr. Tucker was a master plumber holding a license in the states of Texas and Georgia. He enjoyed fishing and holds a captain’s license, previously operating shrimp trawlers. Mr. Tucker was a veteran of the United States Navy having served on the USS Hornet and USS Wasp Aircraft Carriers. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife Faye Conger Tucker of Sylvester; daughters, Debra Benson of West Palm Beach, FL, Dianna Tucker of Leesburg; sons, Dean Tucker, Jr. (Kathy) of Sylvester, Daniel Dale Tucker of Waycross, 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his siblings, Floyd Tucker, T.W. Tucker, David Tucker, Wilburn Tucker, George Tucker, Gene Tucker, Ethelene Tucker Sloan, Vera Tucker Pyles and Geraldine Tucker Wetheington.
Pallbearers included Dean D. Tucker III, Keaton Tucker, Justin Hartsfield, Tal Hartsfield, Victor Mercer and Kyle Bradshaw.
