James Day

Mr. James S. Day, 90 of Sylvester, died on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Cooper officiated. 

Mr. Day was born on April 4, 1929 in Brundidge, Ala., to the late Edward Silas and Alice Senn Day. He had lived in lived in Worth County most of his life and was a veteran having served in the United States Army and Navy. Mr. Day was  retired from MCLB and enjoyed reading his Bible, hunting and spending time with his family. Mr. Day was a member of the Blackshear Baptist Church and the Worth Lodge #194 F & M.

Survivors include his wife, Edith McCrary Day; sons Wesley Ford (Trish), Ronnie Ford (Vickie); grandchildren, Melissa Bartley (Blake), Shannon Whitfield (Todd), Rene Jackson, Daniel Walker (April), Priscilla Bloodsworth (Ed), B.J. Casey, Haley McDaniel, Brandon Ford (Valerie) and Shane Ford (Misty); great grandchildren, Thomas, Micajah, Bennett, Ansley, Bo, Hagan, Brennan, Jaylee, Dillion, Olivia, Autumn Summer, Ashley (Corey),  Trish, Michael, Josiah, Abby, Kelsie, Harrison, Edan, Matthew, Taylor, Ella, Brianna, Jackson, Jacob; great great grandchildren, Presley, Carson, Chelsea; brothers, Joseph LaDon and Jerry Lamar Day.

Mr. Day was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jack Edward Day.

Pallbearers for The service included, Michael Sullivan, Chuck Heiken, Rusty Rogers, Josiah Casey, Harrison Edwards and Tony Litteral.
