Mrs. Pearl Newell Raines, 87, of Sylvester died Friday November 1, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Hospital.
The graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday November 2, 2013 at Providence Cemetery with Rev. Jason Jones officiating.
Mrs. Raines was born on February 22, 1926 in Worth County to the late William Josh and Lou Venia Humphrey Newell. She lived in Worth County since 1991, moving here from Valdosta.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Richard Raines of Valdosta and Angela Gardner of La Crosse, WI; daughter-in- law, Tena Raines; great- grandchildren, Alec Gardner, Briana Gardner and Rebecca Raines and sister, Inez McSwain of Ashburn.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Raines was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton M. Raines on May 19, 2006; sons, Roger Raines on July 24, 2002 and Ronald Raines on October 29, 2013.
