JoAnn Holton

Mrs. JoAnn Holton, 71, of Sumner died Tuesday April 16, 2019 at her residence.

The funeral service was held at 4:00 PM on Thursday April 18, 2019 at the Banks Funeral Home Chapel interment following in the Sumner Cemetery. The Rev. Gary Holton and Rev. Charlie Brown officiated.

Mrs. Holton was born in Albany, GA on December 28, 1947 and had lived in Worth County most of her life. She worked many years at Harveys Supermarket and enjoyed cooking and shopping. Mrs. Holton loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband,  James “Jimmy” Holton of Sumner; daughter, LeAnne McDonald (Josh) of Sylvester; son, Todd Greathouse of Sylvester; step daughter Holly Holton of Columbus; grandchildren, Aidan and Anna Grace McDonald; mother, Myrtle Hatcher of Sumner and a sister, Kay Watson (Buster) of Baconton.

Mrs. Holton was preceded in death by her father, Julian Hatcher; brother Danny Hatcher and a sister Rhonda Hayes.           

Pallbearers for the service included Scott Swift, Tim Holton, David Williams, Marvin McDonald, Geoff Hatcher and Robbie McDonald.
