Marjorie Pearl (Glover) Kuehle

Posted on May 9, 2016 By Sylvester Local

Marjorie Pearl (Glover) Kuehle was born August 9, 1924 and died on January 10, 2016. Marjorie was born in Sumner, Worth County, Georgia where she always felt was home.  She graduated from Sumner High School, where she was very involved in chorus, drama and played basketball. After graduation she moved to Macon Georgia and was working at airline instrument assembly. She met Donald F Kuehle from Hammond, Indiana at the USO and they married when he returned from serving in Germany during WWII. They lived in Hammond where they had four boys and after relocating to Lafayette, Indiana had their daughter. They then moved to Cedarville, Michigan and finally settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She worked in Grand Rapids for the RC Allen Company and later at Jet Electronics, from where she retired. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was always very involved in PTA and other school and scout activities as the kids grew up. She was a wonderful provider of fun and happiness with all our wonderful family and friends through the years in camping, boating and always provided the most loving environment for everyone. She also had an angel’s voice and sang in the Sweet Adeline’s in Grand Rapids. Upon retirement she returned to the family farm in Sumner where she lived and cared for her mother and father. Upon their deaths she relocated to Apex, North Carolina, where she assisted tremendously with her two youngest grandchildren, as well as traveling to see her other grandkids and family often. She has been residing at Woodland Terrace in Cary, North Carolina.

She is survived by four of their five children:  Donald Jr (Helen – Daytona Beach FL), Gene (Sue – Rockford MI), Bill (Mary – Spring Lake MI) and Linda (David Johnson – Apex NC).  She leaves nine grandchildren:  Darrell JR (Melissa), Chad (Samantha), JoAnna (Justin Smith) (all in Virginia); Nicole, Derek, Stuart (Victoria) (all in Florida), Jeff (Jennifer – Michigan), Adam (Tampa) & Zachary (Apex) and future daughter-in-laws Nancy Gillis and Ashley Miskill.  She also leaves 11 great grandchildren:  Justin, Haley, Zachary, Jessica, Tyler, Logan, Maddie, Miles, Sarah Elizabeth, James and Henry, as well as numerous loved cousins, nieces and nephews.  She also leaves one beloved brother-in-law:  Al Amick in Hebron, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her son Darrell and one grandson Billy.  She was also preceded by the most wonderful loving parents, Earlie and Hazel (Sumner) Glover, her brothers Bernard, Randall, Billy and sister Martha Faye.  She always said they didn’t have much money but she grew up in the most loving, fun, happy place in the world.

She will be cremated and her ashes will be interred at Pine Forest Cemetery in Sumner, Georgia with the rest of her Sumner family.  A memorial service will be held at Pine Forest Baptist Church at 1pm on Saturday, January 16th in Sumner, Georgia, where she considered her home church – having been baptized there as a sweet little girl.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the USO (uso.org) – in memory of where Marjorie and Donald met and their family began.

Condolences may be sent to www.ApexFuneral.net
